The Department of Physiology and Biophysics is seeking a candidate to serve as a Research Technician II in the lab of Dr. Sandy Kuhlman. The research group focus on the development and plasticity of the visual system. State-of-the-art microscopy techniques are applied to study brain activity in awake behaving mice. Behavior is monitored using custom-made small electronics. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing surgical techniques including craniotomies. Secondary responsibilities include managing a medium-sized mouse colony, re-ordering stock supplies, and assisting other team members in their research and communication of discoveries. Excellent organizational skills, ability to work well with others, and willingness to learn new lab techniques are key.
