Conducts and documents routine fire and life safety inspections of all campus buildings, according to National, Federal, State, and Local codes and regulations. Investigates all occupational accidents and complaints, and drafts appropriate OSHA documentation and accident reports. Inspects, repairs, troubleshoots, and tests: fire extinguishers; fire alarm monitoring equipment and systems (including automatic fire sprinkler systems); emergency phones; Coordinate, develop, and deliver training for the Emergency Operations Team (EOT). Participate and provide leadership to the EOT during activations and emergency incidents. May assume ICS position(s) as directed ;Coordinates maintenance, repair, specification and new purchases of fire detection and suppression systems, AEDs, fire extinguishers, emergency phones, and other emergency supplies; Maintains a strong working knowledge of applicable Fire and Building Codes and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and waste procedures. Manages campus SDS/HAZMAT programs (including hazard communication training). Establishes working relationships with local fire and emergency services departments and governing authorities. Investigates and recommends fire and life safety system performance specifications for campus facilities.
