Position Description:

Under the supervision of the Dean of Learning Resources, the Program Specialist II performs a variety of responsible, complex and administrative tasks in support of the Distance Education Captioning & Transcription (DECT) grant. Coordinates activities and provides clerical and administrative support to the grant. Coordinates promotion of funding opportunities and receipt of applications and awards. Maintains database of activities and prepares reports as required by program and grand guidelines. Assists with advisory committee activities. Attends staff meetings and serves on appropriate standing and ad-hoc committees. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience: Two (2) years of full-time equivalent work experience involving customer service, one (1) year of which must have been in an educational or non-profit setting. Possession of an earned Bachelor’s Degree will substitute for one (1) year of the required full-time equivalent customer service work experience, but applicant must have one (1) year full-time equivalent work experience in an educational or non-profit setting.
Education: Education equivalent to an Associate degree (60 semester units) from an accredited institution is required.

DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Proficiency with Excel and Access.
Experience as a user of educational technology.
Familiarity with laws and regulations regarding accessibility of information for the disabled.
