The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for a Staff Photographer position within the Marketing, Insights and Communications department.

The position exists to create photographs and occasional multimedia of activities and individuals at the university for use in print publications, on the World Wide Web and for other promotional purposes. This position also manages and trains UR student photographers.


Provide photographic coverage for institutional events, campus scenes and campus life, academic and departmental publications, and university athletic events
Use computer software to edit photos for web and print and to catalog photos in a visual assets library for future use
Produce online multimedia features incorporating stills and audio by using software like Adobe Premiere Pro
Manage and train student photography staff
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or the equivalent
Two years of photography experience
Regular evening and weekend hours required
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
Experience in creating multimedia content preferred
Knowledge of Digital cameras, lighting systems, Photoshop software, audio capture equipment, and multimedia software; techniques and procedures for dealing with the print and broadcast media
Physical Requirements

The ability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds
The ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairways
