Kansas State University is seeking a Student Financial Aid Advisor. This individual will be responsible for referencing existing federal, state, and institutional regulations/procedures, the incumbent advises current and prospective students. They will also clarify the various financial aid application procedures utilized by the office, counsel on the differing eligibility requirements for various federal, state, and institutional forms of aid. Help identify possible solutions to lacking financial resources, assist in submitting appropriate documentation for verification and appeal purposes. Explain the impact enrollment status has on financial aid eligibility; explain annual and aggregate limits on federal assistance including loans and grants.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Four years in general office, clerical, or administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined by the relevant agency.
Two or more years counseling work experience within higher education and/or within a customer service oriented industry.
Proven employment record that reflects ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations.
Ability to author professional quality, written correspondence with students/clients and colleagues as part of daily routine.
Ability to independently apply complex guidelines in identifying and presenting resolutions to customer/student concerns.
Ability to perform public speaking to small groups for informational and/or training purposes.
