Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is accepting applications for Video Producer and Multimedia Team Manager.
We are seeking an accomplished videographer and proven storyteller, someone who is both a leader and a doer, a visionary producer and editor who is passionate about the impact that video can have in moving hearts and minds and skilled in the management and use of still photography. You will help us tell the Embry-Riddle story in the air and on the ground, in classrooms and laboratories, at air shows and in the many milestone moments that characterize the Embry-Riddle experience.
The Video Producer will lead our video and photography team, taking responsibility for creating content that engages prospective students, industry partners, alumni, media and others. Our next Video Producer will have a deep knowledge of video production processes and the ability to impact understanding and appreciation of Embry-Riddle as the world leader in aviation and aerospace education.
He or she will be familiar with the technical requirements of social media and mobile-first platforms with proven experience in both short-form and mid-form videos in a range of styles, for marketing as well as news-placement purposes. The position will also supervise staff and help manage the process and policies guiding production priorities for the university.
The Multimedia Team at Embry-Riddle consists of two additional staff members in Daytona Beach, Florida, and one in Prescott, Arizona. The Multimedia Team provides studio and remote productions, single and multiple camera recordings, editing and publishing of video content for several campus stakeholders and is part of the central Marketing and Communication team.
This is a full-time opportunity.
Lead the day-to-day management of video production for all digital channels, working closely with the other team members and external freelancers, ensuring that photography and video resources are being dedicated to the university’s highest priorities.
Supervise, evaluate and mentor department staff, student interns and freelancers.
Write provisional scripts, incorporate feedback and edit accordingly.
Communicate appropriately with the team and stakeholders throughout all phases of production, tracking work and coordinating assigned projects to achieve successful results.
Produce and edit in-house videos, including but not limited to social videos, b-roll packages, short interviews and special marketing campaign videos.
Film interviews with alumni, students, faculty, staff and supporters.
Assist with live production at major university events.
Work with colleagues to analyze performance data to influence future content development.
Manage ERAU’s YouTube channel.
Keep on top of relevant innovations in creative campaigns, videos and marketing.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Three to five years of video production experience with a portfolio of creative work.
Excellent script-writing ability and strong editorial and storytelling skills.
Experience with video color correction and sound mixing.
Proven experience with short videos suited for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other social networks.
Experience managing an organizational YouTube channel to maximize engagement.
Knowledge of digital video and still formats as well as compression standards.
Digital asset management experience.
Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.
Ability to multitask and determine priority projects/assignments.
Ability to think critically and independently.
General interest and dedication to the mission of Embry-Riddle.
Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.
Ability to travel as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Video Production, Fine Arts or similar/applicable field.
A minimum of three to five years of work experience as a full-time video producer, preferably in a higher education or complex non-profit setting.
Experience with non-linear editing systems (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid, ETC).
Experience with Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop.
Excellent familiarity with RED Cinema Cameras, Canon DSLRs and audio production.
Video production experience within a university or large non-profit mission focused enterprise.
Experience in writing pre-production story boards.
Strong knowledge of lighting for video.
Experience with both interviews and live action with DSLR and Cinema Style Cameras.
