The University of St. Thomas seeks a Department Systems Specialist, I (Systems Specialist) in St. Paul, Minnesota. Work with the Career Development Center to utilize technology in order to market services and manage educational resources appealing to the university community. Act as a liaison with other university departments to receive and provide career services. Collect, analyze and report client, service, and system data including the university’s undergraduate First Destinations survey. Review existing operations, design and implement process improvements. Use industry standard methods to create formal requirements, testing methodologies, and documentation. Consult with other university departments and Career Development staff concerning automation tools, purchases, Web content, and electronic services. Analyze trends concerning department services, Web and system usage, undergraduate First Destinations, and outcomes using spreadsheets and relational databases. Update Web content, electronic resources, and educational and marketing technologies. Use Web programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Java to create and improve Web applications for services or process automation. Manage client data and accounts across multiple university and vendor systems. Provide customer service support of technologies to students, staff, faculty and employers. Other duties as assigned. Must have proof of legal authority to work in the U.S.

Required Education: A Bachelor’s degree, (U.S. or foreign equivalent), in information systems, biotechnology, technology, or a closely related field. Required Experience: A minimum of two years of professional level technical experience. Professional level technical experience means the following types of Information Technology (IT) experience: (1) experience supporting information and document management systems; (2) experience developing training documentation to explain new programs or features; (3) experience designing and writing reports; or (4) experience developing programs, applications or software that enhanced IT systems. The professional level technical experience must include at least one of the technical experiences listed above or any combination of any of the technical experience listed above to total two years of experience.
