POSITION SUMMARY: The Transfer Student Advisor at Bryant Zhuhai is responsible for supporting Bryant Zhuhai’s Director of Administrative Services and Academic Advising in the effective and efficient delivery and administration of transfer admission programs and processes and academic advising related to the 2+2 program, as well as the exchange/international academic experiences to Bryant University, Smithfield. The Transfer Student Advisor is also responsible for maintaining collaborative working relationships with faculty, students, other members of the Bryant Zhuhai and Bryant University (Smithfield) communities, as well as with additional international education providers.

The Bryant Zhuhai/Bryant Smithfield Exchange Program offers students the opportunity to gain a global perspective, experience a different culture and to become proficient in another language. Study abroad opportunities may be a semester, summer or full academic year of study through sponsored study abroad programs, exchange programs, or short-term study abroad programs that are incorporated into courses taught by Bryant Zhuhai faculty members.

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires an individual with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and relevant experience in international education and/or student development and advising. Master’s degree preferred. Recent experience living, working or studying abroad is imperative. Proficiency in both Chinese and English is required, as is the knowledge of varying cultures. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are required to effectively advise students, interact with faculty and staff, and coordinate with representatives from the institution service providers that sponsor university-affiliated programs in various countries abroad. The ability to interpret and administer academic and exchange program policies is important. An in depth understanding of visa and international travel processes and procedures is also required.
