Idaho Go-On Advisor
Off Campus Location - Kuna, Caldwell and Nampa
$14.08 per hour
The primary purpose of the Idaho Go-On Advisor (I-Go) position will be to enhance the college matriculation rate for students within the partner high school as a near peer mentor. I-Go Advisors will report to the Supervisor of the Idaho Go-On Program and work directly with the partner high school college and career counselor. The I-Go Advisor position is located in a partner high school during the academic year to best support high school students in their college search process as well as encourage college campus visits. The I-Go Advisor will help students apply for admission to colleges and universities as well as apply for scholarships, FASFA and advanced opportunities/dual credit. To that end, financial literacy education for both parents and students will be an integral part of the Advisor's responsibilities. Said topics will be delivered through workshops, events, classroom presentations, one-on-one advising sessions, school functions (i.e., assemblies), and outreach visits to local middle schools and community groups. This position is contingent on funding.
- Bachelor degree
- Recent graduate (within 2 years)
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with applying for college admission and financial aid
- A previous graduate from an Idaho high school
- A graduate from the University of Idaho
- A first generation college student
- Prior experience working with high school and/or college students
