Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is now recruiting for a NextGen Project Manager. The NextGen Project Manager is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, integrating, and testing airport technology systems projects. The job requires that approximately 90% of time is spent developing and implementing projects for Embry-Riddle clients, and 10% assisting other project managers and marketing staff in securing new work through preparation of technology-specific proposals. This position represents the University by consulting with and delivering services to clients.Embry-Riddle is contracted by the FAA to lead NextGen related research, prototype development, and demonstrations. The projects often consist of a complex, diverse, and multi-disciplinary teams from FAA, industry, and academia. The projects span exploration of the entire National Airspace System (NAS), to include 4D Trajectory Operations, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), Commercial Space, international collaboration, current NAS systems, and NextGen technologies.
The Project Manager will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, leading critical projects, developing project management related processes, and mentoring junior project managers. Many of the projects include activity at the Florida NextGen Test Bed.Responsibilities Include:Maintains multiple complex projects throughout the project lifecycle. Leads project related meetings and presentations.Defines resources and schedule for project implementation.Budgets, plans and schedules project deliverables, goals, and milestones.Develop and maintain technical and project documentation.Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
